I completely destroyed my driver's side door the first time I attempted that.  I made it right up with no problems only to get wedged in the top.  Surprisingly with a little gingerly massage it still opens.  No glass, and it no longer seals, but it latches securely!  :hilarious:

With my disregard for body damage I'm thinking 1/2" thick plate doors may be the ONLY thing to hold up to my abuse.

yeah old beat up tow rigs can make good trail rigs. when it comes time to get a new tow rig, take the old one and make it into a new trail rig. 2 ne vehicles in 1 shot

I got the bright idea to try this in my ZJ this past weekend. Made it up to the top but couldn't get between the two rocks up there.

You made the same mistake I did.  You need to be a lot more driver.  You actually need to put your driver side tire up on the rock and not in between them.  It feels sketchy but it works.
